Oh my goodness!

We’ve been so busy at Team Stephimals, we’ve barely had time to tell you all the exciting news! Stephimals have a BIG SHOW, a MEDIUM SHOW and a MINI SHOW all in DECEMBER!

The BIG SHOW is hosted by our good friends at MANGIA & BEVI (the BIG SHOW there last APRIL for Autism Awareness Month was a huge success!) and will once again fill the entire restaurant with Happy Vibes, Love and Joy!
If anything gets you in the Christmas spirit, it is surely Stephimals! The show runs from DEC 2 until the New Year!
Click here for all the info!

The MEDIUM SHOW also runs the MONTH of DECMEBER at THE LAZY DAISY, a fabulous cafe at Gerrard and Coxwell that we just discovered recently. And boy, are we glad we did! Great food, fun times and kid friendly!
There are 10 pieces in the show, so come on by and hang out a bit!
Click here for all the info!

The MINI SHOW is part of the Small Works Show presented by our awesome friends at DIMENSIONS CUSTOM FRAMING & GALLERY! There will only be a few STEPHimals included in the exhibit, so make sure you get there before they’re gone! The Small Works Show runs DEC 12-24.
Click here for all the info!

In the spirit of the season, autistic artist Stephanie Coveart will donate 10% of the proceeds of every STEPHimal sold to the buyer’s charity of choice.
Make everyone’s holiday a little brighter this year.
Take home an original STEPHimal before December 24, 2013, and let your purchase help others this Christmas.

Steph is a radio celebrity!

Our Steph is becoming a bit of a radio celebrity! First, she did a 20-minute live-to-air interview on SiriusXM – I’m Just Saying – with Linda Ballantyne and Nicola St. John on September 24 . She was an absolute rock star and she did some shameless self-promoting that made us laugh out loud. So calm, so cool, so honest, so earnest, so Steph. She was flawless. The hosts totally fell in love with her (and fought over custody of Sirius the STEPHimal she gave them as a gift.) Then, just this morning, Stephie (and mom) did a six-minute live-to-air interview with Matt Galloway on CBC Metro Morning! (In case you missed it – it was kind of early, especially for us Covearts – here is a link to the podcast). All the recent airplay is in support of a wonderful fundraiser this Sunday at Hugh’s Room in Toronto, called Autism is a Pain in The Aspergers. Organized by the indefatigable Carolyn Scott and Lee-Ann Reid, the star-studded music/comedy night will benefit Autism Ontario’s ‘Building Brighter Futures Fund’. If you can’t be there, you can always give generously at Thanks to everyone for all your support and wonderful comments! And thanks for listening….

Here’s a picture Matt took of Stephie in the green room with CBC Metro, the STEPHimal she gave to him as a thank you gift!

Lyle is going to New Zealand!!!

Guess what?! Lyle, the giraffe who was surprised one morning to find $50 under his pillow from the neck fairy, is going to live in New Zealand! A lovely couple came into Dimensions Custom Framing and Gallery on Queen Street East in Toronto and fell in love with this special Stephimals™ creature. The couple is here in Toronto working for a few years, but when they go back home, Lyle will be going with them. Maybe he will get in touch with his Australian Stephimals™ friend Noel (who is filled with the Christmas spirit all year long, but becomes particularly flushed as December 25 draws near). Have a great new life, Lyle! We hope to see a picture of you in your new home(s)!!!

Oh what a night!

The opening reception on April 3 for the Stephimals™ show at Mangia & Bevi was INCREDIBLE! So many friends and people I had never even met before came out to say hello to me and to see my art … and I hugged them all! My mom and dad said I was amazing for a young lady with autism. I still couldn’t really look at people’s eyes and I flapped quite a bit because I was so excited, but I gave everyone a tour and even introduced people to each other. I was so proud. And I loved my dress and the heart STEPHIMALS_m&b_epromonecklace I bought at the One of A Kind show from Dotti Potts for my big night. And check out my comic book super sleuth tights! Everyone thought they were so cool! It was great to see so many Stephimals™ all in one place! And all looking so happy and colourful. We all laughed and talsteph looking every bit the artistked and had lots to eat and drink. The food – M&B’s pizza and bruschetta – was awesome and our server Jen was so nice to everyone. We gave her a paper goodie bag of treats that we had put out on the tables: jelly beans and chocolate eggs and real Salt Water taffy from my cousin Kel and gumballs. Jen loves candy, too! El and Feddy, the sister and brother who own M&B, gave me lots of hugs and kisses on my two cheeks, Italian style. They were so happy for me – and so happy that the Stephimals™ are making their customers so happy. Some men who came in for dinner asked to meet me … and one man, Angelo, bought two Stephimals™! (Michael and Orville, two of my mom’s favourites. She was a little sad to see them taken down off the wall, but I told her I was glad they were going to a loving home so she felt a bit better. She says that the Stephimals™ feel like her grandbabies and it’s hard to let them go.) My Auntie Barb and Uncle Wes and my cousins Elizabeth and Dave sent me flowers all the way from Australia! They couldn’t come to the show because they live so far away but the flowers made it seem like they were there with me. My friend Deb brought me delicious cookie flowers and my other friend, Patricia, came with a beautiful yellow rose. I couldn’t believe it but nine Stephimals™ sold at the opening and there was an order for one on-line when we got home. It was a record night for the Stephimals™ and a special night that I will never, ever forget. Thank you to everyone who came to the restaurant to make the opening reception for my very first show so wonderful for me and my mom and dad. We love you all! And so do the Stephimals™!

(If you didn’t get to come to the opening, the Stephimals™ are at M&B for the whole month of April and people are enjoying them so much they may stay for the month of May as well! Drop by anytime and say hello.)

showing for the month of APRIL!

Mangia & Bevi is our favourite restaurant in the whole city and they have invited Stephimals to fill the entire place for the month of APRIL! We are SO excited, we can barely see straight, but we hope we can, because we have 30 pieces of art to get ready and frame by THIS SATURDAY afternoon!
Now THAT is crazy.
The awesome women @ Dimensions Custom Framing & Gallery are doing a large portion of the framing, so we hope we’re ready for them this week too!

Come out to the opening reception on WEDNESDAY APRIL 3, 5pm-8pm @ Mangia & Bevi. Meet the artist, have some fantastic mangia & bevi and see all the original Stephimals for sale. Or simply drop in for lunch or dinner (the food is superb!) any time during the month of April and see the Stephimals show. Open every day. Call 416-203-1635, email or visit the website for hours.
